Career and Workforce Education: Disability Services

The APD works in partnership with local communities and private providers to assist people who have developmental disabilities and their families. APD also provides assistance in identifying the needs of people with developmental disabilities for supports and services.

The Center for Autism & Related Disabilities at USF is a community-based project that provides information and consultation to individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities. CARD-USF offers instruction and coaching to families and professionals through a training and assistance model.

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is a federal-state program that helps people who have physical or mental disabilities get or keep a job. VR is committed to helping people with disabilities find meaningful careers.

Source of free, expert, and confidential guidance on workplace accommodations and disability employment issues. Working toward practical solutions that benefit both employer and employee, JAN helps people with disabilities enhance their employability, and shows employers how to capitalize on the value and talent that people with disabilities add to the workplace.

Pasco County Public Transportation (PCPT) is committed to the effective and efficient management and delivery of public, specialized, and coordinated transportation services in Pasco County. PCPT also operates the county's paratransit service for those persons unable to access transit service because of a verifiable disability, environmental barrier, or distance from a route.

Assist Florida school districts and relevant stakeholders in building capacity to provide secondary transition services to students with disabilities in order to improve their academic success and post-school outcomes.

Through the Children's Hearing Help Fund, our services include the provision of educational and financial assistance for low to moderate-income families with minor children, from newborn to 18 years of age throughout the State of Florida. These services also include provision for hearing evaluations, loaner hearing devices, permanent hearing devices and the ongoing maintenance and replacement of the devices, if necessary, until the child reaches 18 years of age.
